About Me

How It All Started

I was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and have always had trouble walking and used a wheelchair or walking sticks, but this has never held me back. At the age of 8 I climbed Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in South Wales, and raised over £2000 for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. For this achievement I was awarded the Scouts medal of meritorious conduct by the Chief Scout Bear Grills for the achievement. During this time I also gained the DofE Bronze award and the Chief Scouts Platinum award.

Inspiration

I first tried wheelchair racing at the Welsh sports spectacular when I was 7 years old. This is where I first met my first coach, Richie Powell.

I then witnessed David Weir win in London 2012, and instantly knew I wanted to go that fast. At the end of 2023 Newport Harriers contacted me to say they were starting wheelchair racing at the club and would I like to join. I immediately said yes!

Fast forward to the beginning of 2026, and Richie Powell retired. Fortunately he had a good friend to step in for him: David Weir himself, and his coach Jenny Archer!

Goals & Ambitions

My aim is to one day represent Team GB at the Paralympic games. That would be the greatest dream of all, but I’m also looking to have some serious fun and make some new friends along the way.
